Our Harmony Timber sponsored U11 DDSL team travelled to St.Mochtas this morning with our SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD campaign being top of the list today with both sides promoting the campaign.
After the photos the referee soon got the game underway.
The Town lads got into their stride from the first whistle, they showed some great composure on the ball and passed the ball beautifully trying to break the Mochtas defence and after about 5 minutes they broke the deadlock with a neat finish, but The Town lads didn't have it all their own way and had their collars pinned to the mast for long spells which forced the keeper into a string of fine saves but the boys showed maturity beyond their years and remained calm in the back line and kept to their free flowing passing game , quick on the counter attack and were well on top of the game, working hard for one another they scored a number of goals in quick succession to lead at half time.
Mochtas came out strong in the second half but The Town lads were resilient for their efforts. Mochtas scored a goal with the ball taking a horrible bobble before the ball beat our keeper who was flawless today. The boys finished off with two more clinical finishes to see out the match strongly .
What a great team performance all round and congratulations to Tomas Roche on bagging his first DDSL hat trick.
Both goalkeepers gave an exceptional display of goalkeeping today with the St Mochtas and our own goalkeeper really putting on top top performances.
